THE ATELIER

MA ATELIER is an independent jewellery practice in Stockholm. Most ideas come from somewhere outside jewellery, a song, a myth, a memory, something I’ve seen or imagined. I usually know the feeling of a piece before I know exactly what it looks like. The rest is figuring out how to make the two meet.

I’m quite obsessive about the details. I’ll change something, change it back, leave it alone for a while and come back to it. I just know when I can look at it and stop searching for what’s missing. I suppose that’s why I make so few.

Everything is designed and developed by me in Stockholm. I trained as a goldsmith, so however freely an idea begins, eventually it has to become something real, something that sits beautifully on the body and feels right in the hand.
